I love Pink Lady and Jazz apples too-not a fan of Golden Delicious-they're a little too sweet for me.....I like tart apples or a sweet/tart mix. I do love Granny Smith apples for baking too.

No butter flavor Crisco here-the regular it is. I like the zero trans fat one-never saw a reduced fat Crisco. I don't know what the butter flavor one would do in this cake-most likely turn it yellow. With this recipe-I stick to what's written........it's worked for all these years for me-why mess with success, you know?

No bother at all..............
