Default WHAT a bargain!

Went to Kohl's today and got a mortar and pestle, granite, for only $12.91 regularly $29.99 woohooo! with my coupons and discounts, it was a great steal. I was going to order one on line but it would have been too much.

I was looking for a biscuit cutter, the round cutters, but they did not have it; probably closer to the holidays..... I could always do my traditional "rustic" biscuits but I would like to have one.

Soup can makes a perfect biscuit cutter. I have a doughnut cutter, but it's too big for biscuits. I've also used a juice glass. Works fine.

the way you season a mortar and pestle is to take 2 garlic bulbs, mash them into the mortar and leave it for 24 hrs. Our house smelled like garlic for 24 hours!! ha ha
did the trick though! then we tested to see if any grit was coming out by putting a handful of wet rice in it and then used the pestle. All good to go!
I love the granite look, they say it is the better material for mashing herbs and such.
