Create the rich part with our Duncan Hines Double Fudge Brownie Mix. Then top with a cream cheese icing for the creamy part. Ta-da, you've got Rich N Creamy Brownie Bars!
Brownies:
- 1 pkg Duncan Hines® Double Fudge Decadent Brownie Mix
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Topping:
- 1 (3 oz) pkg cream cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Preheat oven to 350 ºF. Grease bottom of 8x8-inch pan.
- For brownies, combine brownie mix, fudge packet from mix, egg, water and oil in large bowl. Stir with spoon until well blended, about 50 strokes. Stir in pecans. Spread evenly in prepared pan.
- For topping, beat cream cheese in large bowl at medium speed with electric mixer until smooth. Beat egg, confectioners' sugar and vanilla extract until smooth. Spread evenly over brownie mixture.
- Bake at 350 ºF for 38 to 40 minutes or until edges and top are golden brown and shiny. Cool completely in pan. Refrigerate until well chilled. Cut into bars.

You bake the cream cheese mixture after you spread on the brownie mixture? It says bake till golden brown and shiny? Do you mean the cream cheese will get golden brown and shiny?

Yeah, that sounds weird to me too. I wouldn't want to eat this without cooking it since it contains eggs. I guess it will be a bit like cooking a cheesecake?
