This easy-to-prepare Chocolate Almond Fudge Pie will be the hit of any party! It features smooth, rich chocolate filling, sweet almond whipped cream, and the crunch of toasted almonds. A decadent dessert that will become your go-to favorite recipe!
- 1 store-bought refrigerated pie crust
- 1 can Duncan Hines® Frosting Creations™ Frosting Starter
- 1 packet Duncan Hines® Frosting Creations™ Chocolate Almond Flavor Mix
- 1 bag (12 oz) milk chocolate chips
- ½ pint heavy whipping cream
- almond extract to taste (about ¼ - ½ t)
- granulated sugar to taste (about 1½ - 2 T)
- ½ cup sliced almonds, toasted
- powdered sugar, for garnish
- Cook store-bought pie crust fully according to package instructions. Let cool completely.
- Empty Frosting Starter into small saucepan and mix in packet of Chocolate Almond Flavor Mix. Stir well.
- Add chocolate chips to saucepan and melt over low-medium heat, stirring constantly, until all the chocolate chips are melted and there are no lumps in the mixture.
- Pour fudge mixture into cooled pie crust and cool for 30 minutes in the refrigerator, or until set.
- After pie has set, prepare almond whipped cream. Whisk heavy cream on high speed until it starts to thicken. Add almond extract and sugar and continue to whip until cream reaches a stiff peak.
- Spread whipped cream evenly over top of cooled pie. Garnish generously with toasted almonds. Finish by sprinkling a full layer of powdered sugar over pie.
