Made these during the holidays with Red Velvet Cake/ Cream Cheese Frosting and Chocolate Coating. Very festive, a huge hit. as everyone loved them. I wish that they didn't make quite so many so that you could make many different flavored ones. I got bored making 72 of one kind. I also think that it would be good to have more than one person dipping them into the chocolate so that it wasn't so time consuming.

The red velvet are my favorite! I know they make smaller boxes of white, yellow, and chocolate cake mixes so that may be an idea next time you make them. I haven't tried this, but maybe you could bake 2 8x8 and freeze one to use later on. And helps a lot when you have 2 people dipping. Glad everyone liked them!

next time, use 2 round cake pans and adjust the frosting.

Thanks Jess08 for your great suggestions....I may make some for Valentines day, so I'll just make them in the 2 8x8's and freeze half for later..

I divide dry cake mixes all the time. Just use 1 whole egg and1 egg white and divide all the other ingredients. I have also done the "bake 2 layer cakes and freeze one, "

I tasted these over the Christmas Holiday. They are so moist they melt in your mouth. Can't wait to make some.
